Meet Mary Mecham and Her Books
Now a quick intro of me and my books! I’m a 7th generation Texan who LOVES meeting new people, adrenaline rushes, and disability advocacy! Swing by my social media—I’m most active on Instagram and love answering questions on my stories there, and I like to think that I’m funny sometimes, so check out my reels and posts for some giggles.
A couple fun facts:
- I picked up fire breathing during COVID because I was bored
- I won the Chelsea Anders Disability Advocate of the Year award in 2024
- I have 3 children ages 7, 13, and 15
- I’ve tried power paragliding, axe throwing, and trapeze flying and loved them all
- I’ve presented at international disability conferences and founded Disability Book Week
- I’m the current PTA president at one of my children’s schools

Content Levels to Expect
Every reader has different comfort levels, so let’s talk about them and find the right book for YOU! Personally, I LOVE visuals, so I put together some graphics to help you understand the content levels of my books. As a reminder, NONE of my books have or will EVER feature:
- Open-door/ sexually explicit scenes
- Gory/ gruesome violence
- Swearing (other than “in world” language)
- Mocking the disability community
But to help you decide which book is the best fit for you, here is a quick rundown on how much romance/ violence/ fluff vs grit to expect:
So yes—all no-spice books, but I DO write the “edgy side of clean” books. What does that mean? Basically, think of it this way: if it is worse than a PG-13 movie, you won’t ever find it in my books.
I do have awesome battle scenes, BUT they always stay gore free! Need more info? I have an FAQ page on my website that goes over trigger warnings, which are disability inclusive, etc. Make sure to take a look!
Now, here are some things that I LOVE putting into my books and you will frequently find sprinkled throughout my writing:

I got 3:52 on The Midnight Blizzard puzzle, but it was actually more. Lol I kept pausing it to make scrambled eggs. Also Pollox is the one I got and to be honest he is right humans are kind of dumb lol at times.
